About me

Why this name?

The name Bus Jesus started out as a silly idea: back then I had long, golden hair and liked wearing sandals. At the same time I was fitting out and converting my VW T3. When I was looking for a name for the website – or for a way to make some money from the whole project – friends said that Bus Jesus fitted perfectly.

Travellers

I come from a small place in eastern Germany, and I think it's important to know your limits – but the only way to find them is to try. My travels so far have shown me that there are an incredible number of good, friendly, helpful people out there. With that belief, I think, you can pull off something like this. Caution and a good sense for people are essential, of course.

My travel partner is Nepali. Like me, he was between two chapters of his life, wanted to visit his family near the capital Kathmandu and was open to a little adventure. That limited our route on the way there a bit: the Nepali passport is one of the weakest in the world, so we had to avoid visa problems wherever possible.
